金奭。家會稽業網魚。因天華寺利行人結生蓮社。蒙勸念佛。頓棄前業。日持佛萬聲。久之告家人云。我已見佛菩薩至門。已見金蓮華來迎我矣。即坐竹床結印而化。遠近皆聞異香。

Jin Shi lived in Kuaiji and made his living by netting fish. Because Practitioner Li of Tianhua Temple had established a Lotus Society for Rebirth, [Jin] received his exhortation to recite the Buddha's name. He immediately abandoned his former trade and held the Buddha's name ten thousand times each day. After a long time, he told his family: 'I have already seen the Buddha and Bodhisattvas arrive at the gate, and I have seen the golden lotus flower come to welcome me.' He then sat on a bamboo bed, formed a mudrā, and passed away. Far and near, everyone smelled an extraordinary fragrance.
