釋智廉。居上虞化度寺。初遍參宗門。晚節一意西方。慶元改元秋八月。書偈別眾曰我夢中見阿彌陀佛大眾圍遶而說法云。諸上善人當須專修淨業。來生我國。說已即隱。我既見相往生必矣。即回身西向作印坐逝。

Monk Zhilian resided at Huadu Temple in Shangyu. At first, he comprehensively visited Chan lineage teachers; in his later years, he dedicated his mind entirely to the Western Land. In the eighth month of the autumn of the first year of Qingyuan, he wrote a verse to bid farewell to the assembly, saying: 'In a dream, I saw Amitābha Buddha surrounded by the great assembly preaching the Dharma, saying: "All you superior and good people must single-mindedly cultivate pure karma to come and be born in my land." Having spoken, He vanished. Since I have seen this manifestation, my rebirth is certain.' He then turned his body to face west, formed a mudrā, and passed away seated.
