李秉。紹興中官也。領御藥院。初學禪於淨慈輝自得有省發。晚閱龍舒淨土文。日課佛號。與其子閣長元美殿長林師文等數十人。結淨業會於傳法寺。久之感疾。忽見彌陀佛以金圓光戴其首。越七日又見金華滿房。乃囑付親眷。書偈端坐。結印而終。

Li Bing was an official during the Shaoxing era. He took charge of the Imperial Pharmacy Bureau. Initially he studied Chan under Hui of Jingci and achieved an awakening. In his later years, he read Longshu's Writings on the Pure Land and took recitation of the Buddha's name as his daily practice. Together with several dozen people, including his sons, Chamber Chamberlain Yuanmei and Palace Chamberlain Lin Shiwun, he established a pure karma society at Chuanfa Temple. After a long time, he fell ill. Suddenly he saw Amitābha Buddha crowning his head with a golden circular halo. Seven days later, he again saw golden flowers filling the room. He then gave his final instructions to his relatives, wrote a verse, sat upright, formed a mudrā, and passed away.
