28.84

錢唐袁氏。因往靈芝受菩薩戒。即斷暈酒進修淨業。一家皆服其化。二十年不渝初志。一日病中請圓淨律師說法。忽見佛菩薩眾現前。端坐而化。

Lady Yuan of Qiantang, having gone to Lingzhi [Monastery] to receive the bodhisattva precepts, immediately cut off meat and alcohol and advanced in cultivating Pure Land practice. Her entire family was swayed by her transformation, and for twenty years she never wavered from her initial resolve. One day while ill, she invited Vinaya Master Yuanjing to preach the Dharma. Suddenly she saw a multitude of Buddhas and bodhisattvas appear before her; sitting upright, she passed away.
