28.90

錢唐盛氏。日課觀經誦佛不輟。一日病中浴畢面西。問家人云。聞磬聲乎。淨土眾聖且至。已而合掌喜躍曰。佛菩薩已至。觀音手執金臺。如來接我登座。即奄然而化。

Lady Sheng of Qiantang had a daily course of chanting the Contemplation Sūtra and reciting the Buddha's name without interruption. One day while ill, having finished bathing, she faced west and asked her family, 'Do you hear the sound of the chime? The sacred assembly of the Pure Land is about to arrive.' Shortly afterward, she joined her palms, leaped with joy, and said, 'The Buddhas and bodhisattvas have arrived! Avalokiteśvara holds the golden pedestal in hand, and the Tathāgata welcomes me to mount the throne.' Then she abruptly passed away.
