28.92

長安姚婆。因范行婆勸念佛。臨終見佛菩薩來迎。婆言。未與范婆相別。請暫駐少時。須臾范至。佛尚住空中。具言所見勝異。執手而化。

Elderly Lady Yao of Chang'an recited the Buddha's name because the lay practitioner Old Woman Fan had exhorted her to do so. When her end approached, she saw the Buddha and bodhisattvas coming to welcome her. The old woman said, 'I have not yet bid farewell to Old Woman Fan; I request that you pause for a brief moment.' In an instant Fan arrived, while the Buddha still hovered in the sky. She described in full the wondrous sights she saw, and holding hands [with Fan], she passed away.
