Lady Chen of Wuxing observed the vegetarian fasts and precepts. She chanted the Lotus Sūtra five thousand times, and the Diamond and Amitābha Sūtras each as many times as a whole canon. She recited the Buddha's name for a full thirty years. One day she did not eat, and when her family asked what she needed, she replied, 'I wish to see the Buddha.' Having finished speaking, she reclined on her right side and passed away.
