Anniversary Vegetarian Feasts for the Buddha and Patriarchs: The Tathāgata entered nirvāṇa on the fifteenth day of the second month in the fifty-third year of King Mu of Zhou (ren-shen). In every monastery, offerings must be made and rituals performed, which is called the Buddha's death anniversary.
