穆王壬申歲二月十五日。暴風忽起發屋折木。山川震動。西方有白虹十二道南北通貫。王問太史扈多。對曰。西方大聖人終亡之相（周書異記）。

In the renshin year of King Mu, on the fifteenth day of the second month, a violent wind suddenly arose, blowing off roofs and snapping trees. Mountains and rivers trembled. In the western quarter appeared twelve bands of white rainbows connecting north and south. The King asked the Grand Astrologer Heduo, who answered: 'It is the sign of the demise of a Great Sage in the west' (Zhoushu yiji).
