39.65

十月。杜順和上坐亡於義善寺。有弟子詣五臺禮文殊。方抵山麓見老人。語之曰。文殊今在終南山。杜順和上是也。弟子趨歸。師已長往。

In the tenth month, the preceptor Dushun passed away while seated in meditation at Yishan Temple. A disciple went to Mount Wutai to pay homage to Mañjuśrī. Just as he reached the foot of the mountain, he met an old man who told him, "Mañjuśrī is currently at Mount Zhongnan; the preceptor Dushun is he!" The disciple hurried back, but the master had already departed forever.
