北魏孝明武泰元年。達磨自梁入魏。止嵩高山少林面壁。三詔不至○文帝大統元年。達磨傳法及袈裟於惠可。端坐示滅。葬熊耳山定林寺。

In the first year of Wutai under Emperor Xiaoming of the Northern Wei, Bodhidharma went from the Liang to the Wei, stayed at Shaolin on Mount Songgao, and faced the wall; three imperial summonses failed to bring him. In the first year of Datong under Emperor Wen, Bodhidharma transmitted the Dharma and the kāṣāya to Huike, and sitting upright, demonstrated nirvirṇa; he was buried at Dinglin Monastery on Mount Xiong'er.
