梁武帝。沙門智稜值寇還俗。道士孟悉達勸為黃冠。引佛教潤色諸道經。暮年為道士講西昇經。忽失音舌卷。於座委頓而死○望蔡令。殺牛飲啖。臥佛堂上。白癩病死。

Under Emperor Wu of the Liang: The śramaṇa Zhiling encountered bandits and returned to lay life. The Daoist Meng Xida persuaded him to become a Daoist priest. He drew upon Buddhism to embellish various Daoist scriptures. In his later years, as he was expounding the Xisheng jing (Scripture of Western Ascension) for the Daoists, he suddenly lost his voice and his tongue curled up; he collapsed on his seat and died. / The magistrate of Wangcai slaughtered oxen to feast on them and slept in the Buddha hall. He died of white leprosy.
