北周武帝建德三年。帝信衛元嵩說。并罷釋道二教。並令還俗。宣帝即位。詔復佛法○靜帝大定元年。詔復釋道二教。杜祈入冥。見周武在鐵獄受苦。

In the third year of the Jiande era of Emperor Wu of the Northern Zhou, the Emperor trusted the words of Wei Yuansong, abolished both Buddhism and Daoism together, and ordered everyone to return to lay life. When Emperor Xuan ascended the throne, he decreed the restoration of the Buddhadharma. In the first year of the Dading era of Emperor Jing, an edict restored both Buddhism and Daoism. Du Qi entered the netherworld and saw Emperor Wu of the Zhou suffering torment in the Iron Prison.
