禪師慧威。依智者學心觀頓獲開悟。後受遺託造國清寺。凡所建立效力為多。密行殊常人不能測。

Dhyāna Master Huiwei studied mind contemplation under the Master of Wisdom and suddenly attained enlightenment. Later, he received the bequeathed commission to build Guoqing Monastery; in all that was constructed, his efforts were paramount. His hidden practice was extraordinary and could not be fathomed by ordinary people.
