伊川曰。禪家之言性。猶太陽之下置器耳。其間方圓小大不同。特欲傾此于彼耳。然在太陽幾時動。又其學者善遁。若人語以此理。必曰我無修無證。

Yichuan said: "When Chan masters speak of nature, it is like placing vessels under the sun: among them there are differences of square and round, small and large, and they merely wish to pour one into another. Yet when has the sun ever moved? Moreover, their scholars are skilled at evasion: if anyone speaks to them of this principle, they inevitably say, 'I have neither practice nor realization.'"
