南軒曰。天命之全體流行無間。貫乎古今。通乎萬物者。眾人自昧之而是理也。何甞問斷。而聖人盡之亦非有所增益也。若釋氏之見。則以為萬法皆吾心所起。是昧乎太極本然之全體。而反為自利自私。是亦人心而已。非識道心者也。

Nanxuan said: "The complete substance of the Mandate of Heaven flows without cessation, running through past and present and penetrating the myriad things. Ordinary people blind themselves to it, but when has this Principle ever been interrupted? And when the Sage fully realized it, he did not add anything to it. As for the view of the Śramaṇa, they take the myriad dharmas as arising wholly from one's own mind; this is being blind to the originally complete substance of the Supreme Ultimate, turning instead to self-benefit and selfishness. This is merely the human mind, not one that recognizes the mind of the Dao."
