屏山曰。張氏之所謂天命之全體。釋氏之所謂心也。其言全出於佛老。無毫髮異矣。雖然疑萬法非心所為。而歸之太極。是不知太極為何物。如父出而忘其家。見其子而不識與。劉儀同何異哉。蓋以情識卜度。雖言道心而不知耳。反謂佛自私於人心惑矣。

Pingshan said: "What Master Zhang called the complete substance of the Mandate of Heaven is precisely what the Śramaṇa called the mind. His words are entirely derived from the Buddha and Laozi, without the slightest difference. Yet, doubting that the myriad dharmas are made by the mind and attributing them to the Supreme Ultimate, he does not know what the Supreme Ultimate is. It is like a father leaving home and forgetting his family, seeing his son and not recognizing him; how is it different from Liu Yitong? Because he surmised through emotional consciousness, although he spoke of the mind of the Dao, he did not understand it. To turn around and claim that the Buddha was selfish with respect to the human mind is utterly deluded."
