In the Jin State, after Tāla had been executed, his son Shenghuadu Langjun led his father's former subordinates in rebellion, communicating with the Mongols. Commander-in-Chief Wuzhu, who was not yet dead, personally led eighty thousand divine-arm archers trained in the Central Plains to chastise them, but for successive years could not prevail. In the eighth month of the sixth year of Huangtong, Xiao Baoshounu was again sent to negotiate peace with them, ceding twenty-seven walled encampments north of the Xiping River to them, presenting them annually with oxen, sheep, rice, and beans, and patenting their chieftain Ouluo Bojilie as the Lord of the Mengfu State. Only then was peace concluded, with annual gifts being very lavish. Thereupon Ouluo Bojilie proclaimed himself Zuyuan Emperor and changed the reign era to Tianxing. The Great Jin had campaigned for successive years but in the end could not subdue them; they only dispatched elite troops to hold key positions in division and returned. In winter, Commander-in-Chief Wuzhu died (Jin zhi).
