甲申至正四年。諸山主僧請復僧司且曰。為郡縣所苦如坐地獄。脫脫曰。若復僧司何異地獄中復置地獄耶。不許。

In the jiashan year, the fourth year of the Zhizheng reign era, abbots of various monasteries requested the re-establishment of the Buddhist Registry, saying, "We suffer at the hands of commanderies and counties as if seated in hell." Toghto said, "If the Buddhist Registry were re-established, how would it differ from setting up another hell within hell?" He refused permission.
