丁酉十七年三月。大明兵克常州。張士誠遣其弟士德。以兵來援。徐達伏兵擒之。士誠氣沮。請輪資以求和。達圍之下其城　有龍鬪於樂清江。颶風大作。所至有火光如毬。死者萬餘人　元大都晝霧。昏暝不辨人物。如是者旬有五日　瀞江路山崩地陷。

The seventeenth year, dingyou (1357), the third month. The Ming troops overcame Changzhou. Zhang Shicheng sent his younger brother Shide with troops to provide relief. Xu Da ambushed and captured him. Shicheng's spirits were dampened, and he offered to deliver supplies to sue for peace. Xu Da besieged the city and took it. Dragons fought in the Yueqing River, and a great hurricane arose. Wherever it reached, fireballs like spheres appeared, and more than ten thousand people perished. In the Yuan capital Dadu, a daytime fog made it so dark that people and objects could not be distinguished; this continued for fifteen days. At Jingjiang Circuit, mountains collapsed and the ground sank.
