乙亥洪武二十八年。命僧錄司。設上中下三科。考試天下沙門。賜善世天禧等寺。糧米以給其食。賜僧錄司官。大佑袈裟衣衾。

In the yi-hai year, the twenty-eighth year of the Hongwu era [1395 CE], the Central Buddhist Registry was ordered to institute three examination levels—upper, middle, and lower—to examine the world's śramaṇas. Grain and rice were bestowed upon monasteries such as Shanshi and Tianxi to provide for their food. A robe of monastic patches and bedding were bestowed upon the official of the Central Buddhist Registry, Dayou.
