壬午嘉靖元年。毀剖玄明宮佛像。金屑一千三十兩。從趙璜之言。毀折京師寺院。屠應塤。一夕發檄行之。

In the first year of Jiajing, renwu [1522], the Buddhist statues of the Xuanming Palace were destroyed and dismantled, yielding one thousand and thirty ounces of gold leaf. Heeding the words of Zhao Huang, temples in the capital were demolished. Tu Yingxun issued an official directive in a single night to carry it out.
