13.16

吉州福壽和尚。僧問。祖意教意同別。師乃展手。問文殊騎師子普賢騎象。未審釋迦騎什麼。師舉手云。邪邪。

Upādhyāya Fushou of Ji Prefecture. A monk asked, "Are the ancestral intention and the doctrinal intention identical or different?"
The Master simply spread out his hands.
[The monk] asked, "Mañjuśrī rides a lion, and Samantabhadra rides an elephant. I wonder: what does Śākyamuni ride?"
The Master raised his hand and said, "Skewed, skewed!"
