洪州天王院和尚。問國內按劍者是誰。師曰。天王。問百骸俱潰散一物鎮長靈如何。師曰。不墮無壞爛。問如何是佛。師曰錯。

The Upādhyāya of Tianwang Monastery in Hongzhou. A monk asked: 'Within the realm, who is the one clasping the sword?' The Master said: 'Heavenly King.' The monk asked: 'When the hundred bones all crumble and scatter, one thing remains perpetually spiritual—what is it like?' The Master said: 'It does not fall into non-decay.' The monk asked: 'What is the Buddha?' The Master said: 'Wrong.'
