杭州餘杭功臣院道閑禪師。僧問。如何是功臣家風。師曰。俗人東畔立。僧眾在西邊。問如何是學人自己。師曰。如汝與我。僧曰。恁麼即無。二去也。師曰十萬八千。

Chan Master Daoxian of Gongchen Cloister in Yuhang, Hangzhou. A monk asked, "What is the house style of Gongchen?" The Master said, "Laypeople stand on the east side; the monastic assembly is on the west." The monk asked, "What is the student's self?" The Master said, "Like you and me." The monk said, "If so, then there is no duality." The Master said, "A hundred and eight thousand."
