24.30

永興北院可休禪師（第二世住）僧問。如何是西來意。師曰。遍滿天下。僧曰。莫便是麼。師曰。是即牢收取。問大作業底人來師還接否。師曰。不接。曰為什麼不接。師曰。幸是好人家男女。

Chan Master Kezhi of Beiyuan in Yongxing (the second generation abbot). A monk asked, "What is the meaning of coming from the West?" The Master said, "Pervading the entire world." The monk said, "Could it be just that?" The Master said, "If it is so, hold firmly onto it." [The monk] asked, "When a person of great karma arrives, does the Master receive him or not?" The Master said, "I do not receive him." [The monk] said, "Why do you not receive him?" The Master said, "Fortunately, they are sons and daughters of a good family."
