27.100

因開井被沙塞却泉眼。法眼問僧。泉眼不通被沙塞。道眼不通被什麼物礙。僧無對（師自代云。被眼礙）。

Because they were digging a well and the spring opening was blocked by sand, Fayan asked a monk, "The spring opening is blocked by sand when it does not flow; by what is the eye of the Way obstructed when it does not penetrate?" The monk had no reply. (The Master answered on his own behalf, "Obstructed by the eye.")
