27.32

或問僧。承聞大德講得肇論是否。曰不敢。曰肇有物不遷義是否。曰是。或人遂以茶盞就地撲破曰。遮箇是遷不遷。無對（法眼代拊掌三下）。

Someone asked a monk, "I have heard that the Venerable can lecture on the Zhao Treatise. Is this so?" The monk said, "I dare not claim it." The person said, "Zhao has the treatise 'On the Immutability of Things'. Is that right?" The monk said, "Yes." The person thereupon hurled a teacup to the ground, shattering it, and said, "Is this mutable or immutable?" The monk had no reply. (Fayan clapped his hands three times in substitution.)
