江南相馮延巳與數僧遊鍾山。至一人泉問。一人泉許多人爭得足。一僧對曰。不教欠少。延已不肯。乃別云。誰人欠少（法眼別云。誰是不足者）。

Feng Yanji, Chief Minister of Jiangnan, was touring Mount Zhong with several monks. Coming to the One-Person Spring, he asked, "For so many people, how can the One-Person Spring be sufficient?" A monk replied, "It does not allow any lack." Yanji disapproved and gave an alternative: "Who is lacking?" (Fayan gave an alternative: "Who is the one that is insufficient?")
