27.51

法燈問新到僧。近離什麼處曰廬山。師拈起香合曰。廬山還有遮箇也無。僧無對（師自代云。尋香來禮拜和尚）。

Fadeng asked a newly arrived monk, "Where have you recently come from?" The monk said, "Mount Lu." The Master picked up an incense box and said, "Does Mount Lu also have this?" The monk had no reply. (The Master substituted for him, saying: "Following the scent, I have come to pay homage to the upādhyāya.")
