27.67

臨濟見僧來舉起拂子。僧禮拜。師便打。別僧來。師舉拂子。僧並不顧。師亦打。又一僧來參。師舉拂子。僧曰。謝和尚見示。師亦打（雲門代云。只疑老漢。大覺云。得即得猶未見臨濟機在）。

Linji saw a monk coming and raised his fly whisk. The monk bowed; the Master then struck him. Another monk came; the Master raised his fly whisk. The monk paid no heed; the Master struck him as well. Yet another monk came to visit; the Master raised his fly whisk. The monk said, "I thank the upādhyāya for showing me." The Master also struck him. (Yunmen spoke in his place: "I only doubt the old fellow." Dajue said, "Though he got it, he has not yet seen Linji's dynamic functioning.")
