11.51

明州大梅保福居煦禪師溫州周氏子。僧問。古人面壁意旨如何。師曰。但恁麼會。曰未審如何領會。師曰。禮拜著。

Chan Master Juxu of Baofu at Damei in Mingzhou was a son of the Zhou family of Wenzhou. A monk asked, "What was the ancient's intention in wall-gazing?" The Master said, "Just understand it thus." [The monk] said, "I do not know how to grasp it." The Master said, "Bow down."
