建昌軍資聖南禪師。聖節上堂顧視左右曰。諸人還知麼。夜明簾外之主萬化不渝。瑠璃殿上之尊四臣不昧。端拱而治不令而行。壽逾百億須彌。化洽大千沙界。且道正恁麼時如何行履。野老不知黃屋貴。六街慵聽靜鞭聲。

Chan Master Nan of Zisheng in Jianchang Military Prefecture, on the occasion of the Imperial Birthday, ascended the hall, looked around to his left and right, and said: 'Do you people know? The lord outside the curtain of night-bright pearls alters not through the ten thousand transformations; the honored one upon the lapis lazuli palace is unobscured by the four ministers. He rules with hands folded in his robes, and things are carried out without command. His lifespan surpasses a hundred billion Sumerus, and his transformation pervades the great thousand worlds of sand. Tell me, right at such a moment, how does one conduct oneself? / The rustic old man knows nothing of the imperial chariot's esteem; / On the six broad streets, he is too lazy to listen to the sound of the clearing whip.'
