Chan Master Huijue of Lingjiu in Xinzhou ascended the hall and said, 'Assembly! The hundreds of thousands of samādhis and immeasurable wondrous meanings are all right beneath your feet. May each of you interpenetrate on your own! Do you understand? Whether interpenetrating or not interpenetrating, recognize the road of returning home. Wisdom serves as the bridge; gentle compliance serves as the refuge. Abiding in peace, one ponders danger; being in joy, one must know grief. Have you not seen Upāsaka Pang, / Tossing away yellow gold like dirt and manure? / Father and daughter, gathered intimately in a circle, together spoke the words of non-arising. / The words of non-arising must still be remembered: / In the three months of summer, snowflakes fly; in the three months of winter, sweat pours like rain.'
