17.32

廬山東林自遵正覺禪師上堂。十五日已前放過一著。十五日已後未可商量。正當十五日試道一句看。良久曰。山色翠濃春雨歇。柏庭香擁木蘭開。

Chan Master Zizun Zhengjue of Donglin on Mount Lu ascended the hall: "Before the fifteenth day, I let one move pass. After the fifteenth day, it cannot yet be discussed. Right on the fifteenth day, try saying a phrase and let us see." After a long pause, he said, "The mountain colors are deep verdure as the spring rain ceases; / The courtyard cypresses are enveloped in fragrance as the magnolias bloom."
