33.10

台州萬年無著道閑禪師。本郡洪氏子。上堂。全機敵勝猶在半途。啐啄同時白雲萬里。纔生朕兆已落二三。不露鋒鋩成何道理。且道從上來事合作麼生。誣人之罪以罪加之。上堂。舉乾峯示眾云。舉一不得舉二。放過一著落在第二。雲門出眾云。昨日有人從天台來却往徑山去。峯曰。典座來日不得普請。師曰。相見不須瞋。君窮我亦貧。謂言侵早起。更有夜行人。

Chan Master Wuzhuo Daoxian of Wannian in Taizhou was a native of the Hong family in the same commandery. Yunmen stepped out from the assembly and said, 'Yesterday someone came from Tiantai and went instead to Jingshan.' Feng said, 'Tomorrow the head of the kitchen is not permitted to hold the collective work duty.' The master said, 'When we meet, there is no need for anger; / You are destitute, and I too am poor. / Thinking someone rose early at dawn, / There is yet someone walking by night.'
