33.38

隆興府石亭野庵祖璿禪師。上堂曰。喫粥了也未。趙州無忌諱。更令洗鉢盂。太殺沒巴鼻。悟去由來不丈夫。這僧那免受塗糊。有指示無指示。韶石四楞渾。塌地入地獄。如箭射雲岫。清風生大廈。相逢携手上高山。作者應須辨真假。真假分若為論。午夜寒蟾出海門。

Chan Master Zuxuan of Ye'an at Shiting in Longxing Prefecture ascended the hall and said, '"Have you eaten your porridge yet?" / Zhaozhou has no taboos. / Further ordering him to wash his bowl— / Extremely lacking any handle! / Awakening has never been the mark of a hero; / How can this monk avoid being muddled? / There is instruction, there is no instruction; / The four corners of Shao Rock are totally solid. / Collapsing to the ground, entering hell / Like an arrow shooting into the cloudy crags. / A fresh breeze rises in the grand mansion; / Meeting each other, take hands and climb the high mountain. / An adept must distinguish the real from the false. / When the real and the false are divided, how should it be discussed? / At midnight, the cold toad emerges from the sea gate.'
