淨慈慧光禪師字潛菴。作化鹽偈曰。合水和泥一處烹。水乾泥盡雪花生。乘時索起遼天價。公驗分明孰敢爭。

Chan Master Huiguang of Jingci was styled Qian'an. He composed a gāthā upon soliciting salt: 'Combining water and mud, they are boiled in one place; / Water dries, mud is exhausted, and snow blossoms emerge. / Taking advantage of the season to demand a sky-high price, / The public verification is clear—who dares dispute it?'
