五謂。東晉隆安初。涼州沙門釋寶雲。與釋法顯釋智嚴等。前後相從俱入天竺。而雲通歷大夏諸國。解諸音義。後還長安及以江表。詳譯諸經。即當今盛行莫非雲出。而樂栖幽靜終於六合山。遊西有傳。

The fifth: Early in the Long'an era of the Eastern Jin, the śramaṇa Shi Baoyun of Liangzhou, together with Shi Faxian, Shi Zhiyan, and others, followed one another to enter Tianzhu together. Yun traveled extensively through all the kingdoms of Daxia, understanding their various sounds and meanings. Later he returned to Chang'an and the Jiangnan region, carefully translating many scriptures; those flourishing today were mostly produced by Yun. Loving to dwell in secluded quiet, he ended his life at Mount Liuhe. His Western travels are recorded in a biography.
