驎三問。累不自除。故求理以除累。今假知之一合理實在心。在心而累不去。將何以去之乎。
Lin's third question: Defilements do not eliminate themselves, hence one seeks principle to eliminate them. Now, when provisional knowledge unites once [with principle], principle is truly in the mind. If it is in the mind yet defilements do not depart, how will one eliminate them?
