問義亦如此。若正作罪。雖云慚愧終無所益。若作罪後能生慚愧者。乃是上服。法寵無復答。

[The Emperor] asked: "The meaning is indeed so: if one is in the act of committing a sin, even if one speaks of shame and remorse, it will ultimately be of no benefit. Only if one can produce shame and remorse after committing a sin is it the supreme garment." Fachong had no further reply.
