問若論相涉。三藏義何嘗不相涉。修多羅中亦有毘尼與毘曇。毘尼中亦有修多羅與毘曇。毘曇中亦有修多羅與毘尼。不言無此義。但問法師今所講律。是優波離律義。不違經不。答今所講是優波離律。與經不違。

[The Emperor] asked: "Speaking of interrelation, when have the meanings of the Tripiṭaka not been interrelated? Within the sūtras there are also Vinaya and Abhidharma; within the Vinaya there are also sūtras and Abhidharma; within the Abhidharma there are also sūtras and Vinaya. We do not say this meaning does not exist. I only ask: does the Vinaya that the Dharma master lectures on today accord with the meaning of Upāli's Vinaya without contradicting the sūtras, or not?" [Baodu] replied: "What I lecture on today is Upāli's Vinaya, and it does not contradict the sūtras."
