禎明二年仲冬。攝山栖霞寺布法師。某爾時終。余以此月十七日。宿昔入山。仰為師氏營涅槃懺。還途有此作。
In mid-winter of the second year of Zhenming, Dharma Master Bu of Qixia Temple on She Mountain passed away at that time. On the seventeenth day of this month, I entered the mountain overnight to perform the Nirvāṇa Repentance on the Master's behalf. On the return path, I composed this piece:
