西晉末。竺法進關度浮圖主也。多知聰達。值國欲亂將入山隱。眾人設會與別布香。有僧來處上座。衣服塵垢面目黃腫。進怪之。牽曳就下。復來如是至三不復見。眾坐食。忽暴風起揚沙。柈案俱覆。法進懺失。自責輕侮之過。

At the end of the Western Jin, Zhu Fajin was the abbot of Guandu Stūpa. He was knowledgeable, wise, and perceptive. Meeting with an impending rebellion in the state, he was about to enter the mountains into seclusion. The assembly held a gathering to bid him farewell and scatter incense. A monk came and took the top seat, his clothes dusty and dirty, his face yellow and swollen. Fajin found it strange, and dragged him to a lower seat; the monk came back again in this manner up to three times, and then was seen no more. As the assembly sat eating, suddenly a violent wind arose and whipped up sand, overturning all the trays and tables. Fajin repented of his error, rebuking himself for the fault of slighting [the monk].
