Regarding the above, Amoghavajra previously received an imperial decree ordering the translation of this scripture. The heavenly grace having kindly descended, it has now been completely accomplished. Comparing the Chinese and Sanskrit, determining the words and sounds, the names of the monastic and lay persons who transcribed and certified the meaning, along with the dates and locations, are all inscribed in the scrolls. The origins and circumstances of Mañjuśrī's deeds, from his initial generation of the aspiration [for awakening] to his realization of true awakening and the adornment of his pure land, are fully contained in this scripture. The noumenal reality of all Buddhas, the practices of bodhisattvas, and the unproduced true reality of sentient beings in the Dharma realm are all clearly revealed. Its merit is vast, rarely rivaled by other scriptures. I pray that this superior cause may above support the sagacious throne. I humbly beg that it be proclaimed throughout the realm to bring fortune to living beings. I specially request the heavenly grace that, in the newly established Mañjuśrī Cloisters, seven monks in large monasteries and three monks in small monasteries constantly expound, recite, and practice it for the state within the Mañjuśrī Cloister. When there are vacancies, let them be continually filled. This will ensure that the lamp of the Dharma shines continuously without end, and which among the spirits and myriad beings would not rejoice? Fortunately coinciding with the day of the Cakravartin King's descent and birth, a day of splendid assembly for gods and men, I hope that this great fortune may augment the Mountain of Longevity above, wishing that the stream of Dharma may swell the Sagacious Sea. I respectfully submit this with the petition to bring it to your hearing. If the heavenly kindness grants approval, I pray that an imperial brush-written decree be issued.
