46.58

復有一鬼言。常有旋風迴轉我身。不得自在隨意東西。心常惱悶。何因故爾。目連答言。汝前世時常作卜師。或時實語或時妄語。迷惑人心不得隨意。

Yet another ghost said, 'A whirlwind constantly spins my body around so that I cannot move freely to the east or west at will, and my mind is constantly afflicted and distressed. What is the cause of this?' Maudgalyāyana answered, saying, 'In your previous life, you were a diviner. Sometimes you spoke truth and sometimes you spoke falsehood, bewildering people's minds so that they could not do as they wished.'
