穀城鄉卒常生。不知何所人也。數死而復生。時人為不然。後大水出所害非一而卒。輒在缺門山上大呼言。卒常生在此。云復雨水五日必止。止則上山求祠之。但見卒衣杖革帶。後數十年。復為華陰市門卒。

The village soldier Changsheng of Gucheng—no one knows what kind of person he was. He died and revived several times, but the people of the time did not believe it. Later, a great flood arose and caused no small harm, yet the soldier was always on Mount Quemen shouting aloud, "The soldier Changsheng is here!" He said that the heavy rains would certainly cease in five days. When they ceased, people went up the mountain to seek him and make offerings, but saw only the soldier's clothes, staff, and leather belt. Several decades later, he was again serving as a market gate soldier in Huayin.
