38.82

又問。世尊僧伽梨當置何處。鉢盂錫杖復置何處。答曰。世尊伽梨付囑堅疾天令善護持。鉢盂錫杖付囑頻伽天隨在供養。世尊僧伽梨先遣在祇桓。十二年中住。鉢盂在鷲頭山。十五年中住。錫杖在龍泉。四十年中住。

"He asked again: 'Where should the World-Honoured One's saṃghāṭī robe be deposited? Where should the alms bowl and tin staff further be deposited?' They answered, saying: 'The World-Honoured One's saṃghāṭī robe was entrusted to the deity Jīvavajra, who was told to protect and maintain it well. The alms bowl and tin staff were entrusted to the deity Kaliṅga, to make offerings to them wherever they reside. The World-Honoured One's saṃghāṭī robe was first sent to stay at the Jetavana, to remain there for twelve years. The alms bowl was sent to Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa, to remain there for fifteen years. The tin staff was sent to the Dragon Spring, to remain there for forty years.'"
