68.86

菩薩復有四事法。得無讎怨無侵嫉者。何等為四。一於善知識無諛諂心。二不慳貪妬他人物。三見人布施助其喜。四見菩薩諸所作為不行誹謗。菩薩復有四事法。其所語言聞者信從踊躍受行。何等為四。一口之所說心亦無異。二於善知識常有至誠。三聞人說法不生是非。四若見他人請令說法不求其短。

"A bodhisattva further has four practices to be without enemies and without those who violate or envy them. What are the four? First, having no mind of flattery toward spiritual friends. Second, not being stingy, greedy, or envious of other people's belongings. Third, seeing people practice giving and joining in their joy. Fourth, seeing all that bodhisattvas do and not defaming them. A bodhisattva further has four practices such that the words they speak are believed, followed, and joyfully put into practice by those who hear them. What are the four? First, what the mouth speaks is not different from the mind. Second, toward spiritual friends, one always maintains utmost sincerity. Third, hearing people preach the Dharma, one does not give rise to notions of right and wrong. Fourth, if one sees others invited to preach the Dharma, one does not seek out their shortcomings."
