8.106

我於此不久　當下閻浮提
迦毘羅施國　白淨王宮生
辭父母親屬　捨轉輪王位
出家行學道　成一切種智
建立正法幢　能竭煩惱海
關塞惡趣門　淨開八正路
廣利諸天人　其數不可量
以是因緣故　不應生憂惱

“Before long from here, / I shall descend to Jambudvīpa; / In the country of Kapilavastu, / Born in the palace of King Śuddhodana. / Taking leave of parents and relatives, / Relinquishing the status of a cakravartin, / Leaving home to practice and study the Path, / Achieving the knowledge of all modes. / Erecting the banner of the True Dharma, / Able to dry up the ocean of afflictions, / Closing the gates to the evil destinies, / Purity opening the path of the Eightfold Noble Path. / Broadly benefiting devas and humans, / In numbers that cannot be measured. / Due to these causes and conditions, / You should not give rise to grief and distress.”
